SUMMARY OF WORK AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:

- Extensive work experience in private sector business and as an education administrator at the provincial, national and international levels;
- Considerable volunteer experience with not-for-profit associations, particularly sport organizations, at the provincial, national and international levels;
- Chairperson and member of several boards, councils, committees, task forces and study groups;
- Chairperson and member of a number of conciliation, arbitration and appeal boards;
- Member of the Board of Directors that was responsible for the St. John’s Maple Leafs, Mile One Stadium and The St. John’s Convention Centre;
- Member of the Executive Council of Hockey Canada (formerly the Canadian Hockey Association) from 1995 to 2003 and Chair of the Board from 1999 to 2001;
- Founding Chair of the Canadian Hockey Foundation, the fundraising arm of Hockey Canada;

CURRENTLY:

- Treasurer of the Canadian Olympic Committee;
- Coordinator of the Canada-wide Scholarship Program for the Johnson Family Foundation;
- Treasurer of KidSport Canada;
- President of the Chelsea Foundation;
- Chair of the Advisory Committee for the International Hockey Heritage Centre planned for Windsor, Nova Scotia.

AWARDS:

- Honourary Life Member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Association;
- Member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Hall of Fame;
- Honourary Life Member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association;
- Special Recognition Award from the Canadian Teachers’ Federation;
- Queen’s Jubilee medal.
