The Power and Grace of Integrating Social into our Bottom Line!

For over sixteen years Jen Hunter has worked with and been in action as a leader to create positive and engaging futures. In the past year, Hunter has twice received the nomination to run as the Ottawa Centre Candidate in her riding. In addition to a deep commitment to a vital and prosperous Canada, Jen knows Ottawa is a wonderful home, and a dynamic place to work and play! She invests a great deal of her time in developing local leadership capacity with Leadership Ottawa. She brings a clear and action-oriented approach to create more balance in parliament in her role as Vice Chair of Equal Voice (National Capital Region). She is also a professor at Algonquin College with the Green Business Management Post-Graduate Program.

Her role as a software executive provided her with solid insight into how Canada can prosper in the global economy. As a small business owner, she appreciates the challenges and opportunities involved in providing high quality services while making a living. Jen has worked with public, private and not-for-profit organizations around the world and brings an awareness that value-driven leadership is central to organizational success.

"I deeply believe that leadership resides in every person and is the most valuable and least explored resource on our planet." Jen applies a variety of leadership development tools, methods and approaches which are all fundamentally grounded in service and the significance of leading by example. In addition to applying approaches of others Jen artfully adapts material to best fit each unique need and situation. "The ability to tailor an approach to work with the existing needs is a distinct and valuable skill set I bring to the customers I serve. I have focused my passion and my work on ensuring solid process is combined with organizational strategy to produce real and sustainable results that harness the power of our collective wisdom." Ms Hunter has worked with a variety of public and private sector organizations all over the world. I speak at conferences in my field, leading provocative and engaging sessions. A question guiding Jen's leadership right now is: "How can we bring community back to the Commons?"
